McKay Pharmacy and the Friends of Knocknagoney

McKay Pharmacy is delighted to have teamed up with Knocknagoney Primary School in an exciting project. The project aims are to Raise awareness of health issues as identified by the parents with support from staff and pharmacist Break down the barriers between parents and their access to health services within the statutory, voluntary and community sector provision. Build a relationship between the community, Friends of Knocknagoney and the pharmacist, promoting the pharmacy as a community health facility To improve the health and wellbeing of the children and parents through programmes, discussion, partnership , group and one to one work( as determined by the parents and children)

This project is currently in its infancy but we hope to make a positive impact on the lives of the members of this community.

McKay Pharmacy teams up with Sure Start

Our pharmacists have been working with Sure Start to deliver a range of health related informal talks and discussions with two groups of young mothers from the east Belfast area.

Sure Start is a Government programme which aims to achieve better outcomes for children, parents and communities by: increasing the availability of childcare, improving health and emotional development for young children and supporting parents in their aspirations towards employment.

McKay Pharmacy is delighted to be associated with Sure Start and is hopeful it can make a valuable contribution to the good work they are involved in.
