Belfast Pharmacy At The Heart Of Your Community

About Us

*

McKay Pharmacy was founded in 1976 by Pharmacist John McKay and his wife Ina with the opening of their first store in Newtownards. The group has since expanded to its current size of three exclusive pharmacies located in the greater Belfast area.

John and Ina have recently celebrated their 30th year in business and paid tribute to the hard work and loyalty of their long serving staff and the friendly rapport that has been developed with their customers over the years. John and Ina’s son, James, has recently joined the family business and hopes to continue to build on the excellent reputation that his parents have established as an innovative healthcare providers.

The McKay family take pride in their grass roots understanding of local patient needs that exist within the communities they operate. They also take pride in knowing that when a new or existing customer enters one of their stores they are guaranteed to be met by a warm and friendly smile which can be coupled with sound accessible professional healthcare advice.

At McKay Pharmacy we are continually seeking to develop and improve the range of services that are available to our customers. We are committed to the delivery of enhanced pharmaceutical services. We eagerly await the development of the new pharmacy contract for Community Pharmacy in Northern Ireland. In addition to core pharmacy activity we are currently involved in Medicines Management, Smoking Cessation clinics, Minor Ailment consultations, H Pylori testing and a Building Community Pharmacy Partnership projects.

In 2007 the McKay group diversified by means of opening a new beauty salon McKay Parlour and the launch of a new e-commerce store, www.lifeandlooks.com.
